Sid Abel was a Canadian Hall of Fame NHL player, coach, and GM. He most notably played for the Detroit Red Wings where he was a member of three Stanley Cup winning teams (43, 50, and 52). After the 1943 win, Abel left the Red Wings to serve with the Royal Canadian Air Force during World War 2. Upon his return, Abel teamed up with Ted Lindsay and then Gordie Howe to create "The Production Line" - one of Detroits most famous scoring units. This photo was signed by Abel.
