Have you every thought "man, I wish I had hands like Jerry Rice!" Well, now you can! This sculpture was cast from a mould of Jerry's actual hands when he caught the catch tieing the NFL record for most career receptions in 1992. The piece was made by Steve Haskins, a Bay Area artist. The series was featured in Sports Illustrated when they did the SI 95 - History in Objects.
The hands are extremely detailed, down to the prints and lines within the skin (any interested palm readers out there?) and really make for a unique piece of art and sports history.
Unforutnately, the ball that went along with the hands has been lost, the ball in the photo is for display purposes only and is not a part of the piece. However, the hands do come with the double sided information card/certificate of authenticity and special edition Jerry Rice gloves!
The piece is substantial, the base is approximately 11 inches across and the hands stand about 17 inches tall, weighing in at just under 15 pounds.
