Jay Berwanger was a college football stud in the 1930s. He was the first ever recipient of the Downtown Athletic Club Trophy. Does his pose look familiar? The DAC Trophy was renamed the Heisman Trophy the following year! Berwanger gave Gerald Ford his distinctive scar beneath his left eye during a game against the University of Michigan. Despite an absolutely amazing college career and being the FIRST PLAYER EVER DRAFTED during the inaugural NFL Draft - Jay never played a game as a pro due to salary disputes. He tried to get a spot on the US Olympic team for the decathlon, however, he did not make the cut. He eventually ended up working for the Chicago rubber company and coached for the University of Chicago. Jay admitted later in life to regretting these choices.

This awesome piece of history measures approx. 4.5"x4.5" and comes unframed. It can be framed for an additional fee.
